Ugly, noisy, smelly, and to
be avoided - this is why animal farms these days are closed to the public. They have all the charm of concentration
camps, which is why only those people who work on them know what really goes on
there. Enthusiastic consumers of meat
and milk products have a picture in their heads of The Happy Farmyard (circa
1930) - they don’t want to know about today's industrial processes being
applied to the rearing and killing of animals.
If they knew, it would spoil their dinner.
